Aran is a fascinating fusion of sound and emotion that transcends genres. Founded in 2018 in Barcelona by Italian bassist and producer Massimiliano “MarFi” Gentilini, the project blends the expansive spirit of 1970s progressive rock with the power of modern progressive metal and subtle touches of jazz fusion, creating a uniquely rich sonic landscape.
Their conceptual album EVO – A Progressive Journey (2022) takes listeners on a voyage from the dawn of the universe to the modern age through ten tracks that feel like musical landscapes—intense riffs, ethereal keyboards, and deeply emotive vocals intertwining in perfect harmony.
Their latest single, Everything Ends, proves that the band refuses to simply repeat the past. Instead, they weave it together with the present, crafting a powerful and heartfelt language of their own: soulful female vocals, passionate guitars, and rhythmic sections that challenge the listener to stay still.
